PROBLEM

Integrating ERP systems in time for product launch.

Toni Riera, Daniel Gomez, and Juan Luis Perez co-founded Milio (YC W23) in 2022. Milio is building B2B payment infrastructure for emerging markets, both nationally and cross-border, and connecting it to legacy ERP systems through a single API. Milio’s platform allows for faster money movements, real-time access to data, and treasury automations through efficient workflows and seamless national and cross-border account-to-account payments. The importance of product integrations surprised Daniel Gomez. The two co-founders were busy building Milio and had already spent time «creating integrations with other types of systems.» They knew they also needed to create integrations with accounting and ERP systems, but «we didn’t have time to create each 1:1 accounting integration,» Daniel recalls.

Milio decided to use a unified API to address the breadth and complexity of the integrations they needed to support. Unified APIs provide a single set of endpoints and normalized data, in this case, accounting data, making it much faster and simpler to create and maintain integrations.

Initially, «we looked at Siigo,» Daniel mentions, noting that coverage with Siigo alone wasn’t sufficient for Milio’s needs and that «they’re not as well-documented and require too much development work.»

SOLUTION

Implementation of transaction synchronizations with ERP systems. Milio integrates with accounting and ERP systems such as Siigo, Alegra, Netsuite, and SAP to optimize financial management, deductions sorting, and invoice matching thanks to Konvex’s Unified API.

Milio utilizes Konvex’s Unified Accounting API to synchronize bidirectionally with ERP systems. Milio keeps these accounts updated using ERP integrations, reading account balances and writing deductions to the ledger in the ERP system. This synchronization involves a wide range of ERP objects, including accounts, credit notes, contacts, journal entries, and payments.

The integrations have yielded good results for Milio. «We are an integration company from start to finish,» notes Daniel.

Although ERP integrations are a big selling point, the quick integration setup and data synchronization, Konvex API helps Milio handle large clients with huge transaction volumes.

«We ensure they can support a huge volume of data, up to 500,000 pending invoices,» using Konvex API, comments Daniel. According to Daniel, «Konvex API is a great accelerator. I no longer have to mention that we don’t integrate with our clients’ ERP and mention the difficult problem of integrating with ERPs. Konvex API continues to offer new integrations, and the support has been incredible,» he points out.
